S2 EP 16. Paul Hutchinson: The Path to Forgiveness and Spiritual Freedom

In this episode of Stay Grounded, my dear friend Paul Hutchinson joins me for an in-depth conversation about the path to forgiveness and spiritual freedom.

Paul Hutchinson is a successful entrepreneur, a humanitarian, and a filmmaker. He co-founded Bridge Investment Group Partners, a public company on the NYSE, and produced the film “Sound of Freedom”, which tells the true story of a child trafficking rescue mission in Colombia that he was part of. He also founded the Child Liberation Foundation, which has freed over 5,000 children from trafficking in 15 countries. Paul has been honored with many awards, such as the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, the International Medal of Freedom, and the Race Award from Harvard Business School.

Paul shares his incredible story of ego to purpose, from building a multi-billion dollar company to leading covert rescue missions and putting his life on the line to save innocent children. He discusses the power of cultivating unwavering faith and conviction in humanity, even in the darkest places.

Key Topics Covered:

  • The meaning of true forgiveness and how it differs from conventional ideas of forgiveness

In this monthly reflection episode of Stay Grounded, Raj shares his journey towards “emotional sobriety” and liberating himself from destructive mind patterns. S2 EP 14. Ryan Matsumori: Finding The Courage To Be Yourself

In this week’s episode, we explore the healing power of unconditional love with Executive Life and Business Coach Ryan Matsumori.

With over 10 years of experience as a transformational life coach, Ryan Matsumori has an in-depth understanding of human relationships and personal growth. As a Professional Certified Coach recognized by the International Coaching Federation, Ryan has supported over 500 clients in developing self-love, confidence, and clarity within themselves. Having walked his own journey to embrace vulnerability and listen to his heart after a difficult divorce, Ryan is adept at guiding others to break free of limiting beliefs and conditioning to live a life aligned with their truths.

Some key insights from Ryan:

  • Unconditional love provides the safety for us to be vulnerable and express all parts of ourselves without fear of judgment. This allows us to be grounded in our most authentic selves.
  • When we focus on our own self-judgment, we disconnect from both ourselves and others. But being intimate with all aspects of ourselves is crucial for alignment.
  • The mind often projects limiting beliefs based on past experiences. But the wisdom of the heart can guide us to create a different future aligned with our truths.
  • Going through intense hardship cracked open Ryan’s constructs and allowed him to finally listen to his heart’s wisdom. We often need trauma to prompt our awakening.
  • Simple practices like conscious breathing, shaking, and bounding can regulate our nervous system and bring our bodies into a state of safety and grounding.

This heart-opening discussion is a reminder that love – for ourselves, others, and the universe – is always available if we allow ourselves to access it by breaking free of limiting beliefs. When we trust we are unconditionally loved, we gain the courage to live fully as our truest selves.

S2 EP 13. John O’ Connor: Redefining Masculinity and Mental Health

In this episode, we dive deep into redefining masculinity and mental health with John O’Connor.

With over two decades of experience and 10,000 hours logged coaching high-achieving men, John is one of the most qualified individuals I could possibly find to speak on the subject. As a husband, father, and former entrepreneur who got sober 22 years ago, John shares vulnerably about his own journey with alcohol addiction, suicidal ideation, and generational trauma, modeling a new paradigm of masculine strength through emotional openness.

Key topics discussed:

  • John’s process of getting sober over 22 years ago and the tools that helped him create lasting change. We talk about the importance of community support and therapy in working through underlying issues.
  • How fully embodying our struggles and sitting with discomfort is critical for growth, versus numbing or distracting ourselves. John shares his brilliant “90 day rule” for uncovering what we’re masking.
  • John courageously opens up about past suicidal thoughts, even amidst living a life he loves. We discuss how generational and ancestral trauma can unconsciously manifest. The power of sharing vulnerably to release shame.
  • Practical somatic tools John uses when difficult emotions arise, like the C.O.R.E. method for non-reactive processing. How allowing our feelings to just be can dissolve their charge over time.
  • The trap of ego and the discernment around what to share relationally vs. internally process first. How vulnerability invites reciprocity in intimacy.
  • John’s current work hosting men’s retreats and how healing journeys invite a new paradigm of masculine emotional expression.
  • Daily practices, like grounding through tea ceremonies, that keep John feeling centered amidst life’s chaos.

This conversation models a new vision of masculine mental health – one of courageous emotional work, inner exploration and interdependence. John demonstrates a grounded strength that comes from sharing vulnerably. His story inspires all of us to bring more truth into the light.

The last time I was with Panache was right before the COVID lockdowns. The time I spent with him as he launched his book, You Are Enough – Revealing the Soul to Discover Your Power, Potential, and Possibility, changed my life profoundly. Thanks to his spiritual wisdom and loving support, he inspired the courage to look at the parts of myself I was afraid to look at and dive deeper into my own spiritual journey.

This incredible human has appeared on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday, he’s collaborated with Deepak Chopra and has worked with everyone from Neale Donald Walsh to Joe Dispenza, Brian Weiss, Ram Dass, James Redfield, and other luminaries in the fields of spiritual and personal development.

When Panache called me out of the blue a few months back and proposed we record another episode together, I said yes in a heartbeat. And after we finished recording the episode, I knew why he called. When the student is ready, the teacher appears. His perspectives were the messages I needed to hear. It was a reminder of infinite possibilities and to trust in a greater unfolding.
