EP 270. Paul Austin: Mastering the Skill of Psychedelics

I’ve been wanting to bring someone on the show to discuss the safe and effective use of psychedelics for leadership development and mental health for some time now – and this week’s guest couldn’t be a more perfect human to help us all get acquainted with the power of these transformational tools.
Paul Austin is a coach, author, and founder of Third Wave, one of the worlds most comprehensive resources for the safe and effective use of psychedelics. He is a pioneer in field and has educated millions through his work. He has been featured in Forbes, Rolling Stone, and the BBC’s Worklife. Paul is also the author of Mastering Microdosing: How to Use Sub-Perceptual Psychedelics to Heal Trauma, Improve Performance, and Transform Your Life.
In this episode, Paul shares how through clear intentions, mentorship, and exploration, anyone can master the skill of safely using psychedelics to facilitate health and awakening. Psychedelic therapies have dramatically improved the quality of my life, so it is an absolute dream to be able to share Paul’s wisdom with you all.
An overview of everything we explored:
  • Psychedelics are a skill and what that actually means
  • The difference between psychedelics and pharmaceuticals
  • What you need to look out for when you’re using psychedelics
  • The benefits of micro-dosing versus macro-dosing
  • Why trust is one of the most potent medicines
  • Why psychedelics are a great tool to help you with shadow work
  • Patience is key to using psychedelics
  • Micro-dosing provides clarity and wholeness within yourself
  • How to safely use psychedelics
  • How Paul stays grounded
  • And so much more…
We drove this episode in so many different directions because I wanted this to be a resource that covered all of the basics. If you have further questions about the safe use of psychedelics, visit thethirdwave.co.

Danielle Sunberg is such a delight. Because of her background as an attorney, she loves to ask questions, and her questions are extremely thought-provoking.

After winning the biggest trial of her career, Danielle left behind the world of traditional success to travel the world and follow the voice in her heart. She is an author, a transformational coach, and an international keynote speaker who helps others go from a sense of doing to a sense of being. Her new book, Atlas of Being: From Briefcase to Backpack, One Former Lawyer’s Exploration of the Human Way, offers an incredible framework for you to answer the call of your inner being to create your most extraordinary life.

An overview of everything we explored:

Danielle and I talk in-depth about how we are each born with an intrinsic north star that is always there to fall back on in our most difficult moments. Danielle is a delightful human being and her story is a reminder of the unshakeable wisdom present in the depths of our hearts. I hope this conversation inspires the courage to trust that wisdom no matter what.

EP 268. Raj Jana – January Reflection: Finding Certainty In An Uncertain World

This episode is my January reflection, a practice that has changed its flavor over time. Instead of finding lessons to learn from my reflections, I’m discovering patterns; it’s like I keep coming back to what has worked and keeps working, and I find myself doubling down on what is true. Perhaps these reflections are transitioning into affirmations.

As usual, I’m joined by my dear friend Georgina El Morshdy to help me steer the conversation’s flow and make sure you get the most out of it.

In this reflection episode, we explore:

  • The differences between being grounded and ungrounded
  • Why having hard conversations is a shortcut to creating change
  • The spoken word is the most powerful wand
  • How to entice massive transformations through self-forgiveness
  • How to integrate the idea of several deaths in a lifetime
  • What are angry responses protecting us from
  • What kind of questions invite an environment of forgiveness

A word that keeps coming when I think of 2023 is trust. You are exactly where you are supposed to be; trust that you’ll reach what you seek. Seek to feel comfortable in uncertainty, remembering that uncertainty is the only certain thing in this world.

EP 267. Rick Cowley: Coming Alive Within Yourself

This episode is a conversation with my friend, Rick Cowley. We go IN on all things purpose.

Rick Cowley is the founder of VysionQuest, a company that has programs and retreats geared to helping you unlock your life’s true purpose. His company was born from him being a cancer survivor in his early 20s.

What I love about Rick is he LIVES his life’s purpose. His cancer diagnosis spurred an unapologetic quest to live his most authentic life.  In fact, Rick even goes as far to call his diagnosis a “golden ticket.”

An overview of everything we explored:

  • Purpose and its unique way of being
  • Connecting to the truth of who we are
  • How to breakthrough the fears and excuses that are stopping you from living your life’s purpose
  • The sweet spot of structure and how it aligns with the flow of life and creativity
  • Clarity is a compass that guides you
  • The role of regret when it comes to purpose
  • How Rick stays grounded
  • And so much more…

This was an amazing episode to record. If you’re wanting to unlock your life’s purpose, you do not want to miss this.

EP 266. Raj Jana – Annual Reflection: Seeing The Bigger Picture

This episode is my 2022 yearly reflection, and the 3rd consecutive annual reflection that I’ve shared publicly on the podcast. This one was really interesting for me because in hindsight, I can see how the last 3 years were truly just one LONG initiation – with 2022 being the final chapter of an era.

In this reflection episode, we cover:

  • Why awareness is the most powerful medicine of them all
  • How to reframe challenges into powerful initiations
  • How I taught myself to let go of entitlements & attachments
  • How conscious relationship is the most powerful mirror for growth
  • Why self-trust is the greatest gift you can give yourself and others
  • How my experiences have transformed me as a leader
  • And so much more…

I want to thank you all for giving the show the gift of your attention last year. It’s been an absolute ride. As we wrap up 2022, I am left starting the new year feeling more connected, calm, and present. I hope this episode finds you well and I hope 2023 is a killer year for you.

He does this by showing people how to tap into their unique flow to experience the full expression of their soul’s gifts. He’s on a mission to help others embody a fearless way of living that is aligned with their divine legacy.

What I love most about Oren is how this man LIVES in his heart. He has infectious energy that transcends the page; it’s palpable in every post he makes on social media. Seriously, you need him in your life.
